Parents registered with us will be invited to an Open Morning, during the Summer Term, the year before their daughter’s admission, with interviews taking place in November, and offers posted before January. We aim to allocate all places by February.
Girls from St Augustine’s Junior Department transfer automatically into the Senior School, unless they eccentrically wish to try for other schools, in which case they sit the Senior Entrance Examination as external candidates.
The external candidates, typically about 100 for the 24 places available, sit the Entrance Examination in English and Mathematics - scheduled for Saturday 12th January 2008. About 40 of these candidates are then called for interview with offers made based on personality and an assessment of what the girl and her family want from the school and can offer to it.
We hold an Open Afternoon for prospective Sixth Formers and their parents during the Michaelmas Term, which is followed up by a Taster Day. The Taster Day allows prospective Augustinian’s to experience a day in the life of our School and get a feel for how they would fit in.
Interviews are then conducted by the appropriate Heads of Department along with the Headmistress, and offers are sent out with conditional GCSE pass requirements.
Occasionally places arise in other years. Once a completed Application Form is received your daughter’s name will be placed on the Applications Register appropriate for her age, and will be considered should a vacancy arise.
