Outstanding GCSE Results 2007

DCSF League Tables published on Thursday 10th January 2008 show St Augustine's Priory top of the Borough and 23rd in the country!


Congratulations Class of 2007 - our best A Level and GCSE results ever!

2007 GCSE

2007 A Level

At least 5 passes A* - C = 100%
At least 5 passes A* - C
inc Maths & English = 100%
A* = 26%
A* - A = 59.1%
A* - B = 86%
A* - E = 100%

Passes A - E = 100%
Passes A - B = 76%
Grade A Passes = 41.6%

Outstanding Achievements:

University Acceptances:

80% of Advanced Extension Awards at Merit / Distinction and 23% of A Level Candidates achieved straight As.
Overall, also taking AS and A2 candidates together more than 25% of Sixth Form candidates gained at least 3 As (in some notable cases 5 As).

The universities which will be receiving this year's Augustinian medics, dentists, mathematicians, historians, physicists, linguists, lawyers, philosophers, artists, English scholars not forgetting our pharmacist, archaeologist and environmental scientist, are very lucky indeed.


2006 GCSE

At least 5 passes A* - C = 100%

inc Maths & English = 98%
A* - A = 56.7%
A* - E = 100%

2006 A-level

Passes A - E = 100%
Passes A - B = 52.5%

Outstanding Achievements:

Three of our students were awarded special honours by the examination board as their grades were in the top five of 41,800 candidates in English Literature.

University Acceptances:

Many Augustinians were accepted to read Dentistry, Medicine and Law plus we note our first Astronomer, first Anthropologist and second Philosopher.


2005 GCSE

At least 5 passes A* - C = 96%
A* - A = 49.5%
A* - E = 100%

2005 A Level

Passes A - E = 98.9%
Passes A – B = 47%

Statistics:

Despite an excellent set of examination results, with A*/A being the most common grade, we are not showing our usual 100% in 2005, owing to one pupil being out of year in Lower V.

Outstanding Achievement:

Deputy Head Girl attaining 4 As in History, Biology, Economics and Maths. She is now reading Law at St Catherine’s, Oxford.

Outstanding Achiever:

One of our pupils was identified by the GCSE Examination Board as an outstanding achiever as she was in the top five of the 16,421 candidates that took Physics.

University acceptances included:

Oxford, Imperial, University College, Kings College, Queen Mary, Royal Holloway, Westminster, Nottingham, Surrey, Exeter, Warwick & Edinburgh.


Early Examination 2005 GCSE (taken by girls in Lower V)

Taken a year early, girls in Lower V collected:
15 A*s and 9 As in French, Spanish and Latin – a brilliant achievement.

These grades are not reflected in the statistics above.

A* - A = 45.7%
A* - E = 100%

2004 A Level

Passes A – E = 98.4%
A – B = 54%


2003 GCSE

At least 5 passes A* - C = 100%
A* - A = 43.5%
