As always our departing Upper Sixth are going on to study a wide range of subjects from Physics to Politics and from Medicine to Middle Eastern Studies. Maedee Burge Rogers (pictured here with Mrs Gumley-Mason) achieved 3 As and was accepted to Newnham College, Cambridge (the Headmistress' College) to read Veterinary Medicine. Jessica Ferguson (Head Girl 2007-08) also gained 3 As and will be going to Oxford to read English. Special mention must also be made of Sophie Cox, Katy Donovan, Ciara O'Connor, Marnie Richards and Micaela Barradas who all also achieved straight As.
Within Top Ten in the Country, 2008 Elizabeth Wood was amongst the top ten students according to Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body. Elizabeth sat the GCSE Russian exam earlier this summer here at St Augustine’s Priory, and the results, issued last month, show that out of 1922 candidates, Elizabeth achieved one of the highest overall marks. Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel’s Managing Director, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams. We send our congratulations to Elizabeth.”
