The Juniors

As the girls mature, they are increasingly taught by subject specialists and  have access to specialist teaching rooms and the latest computer technology. The subjects taught in the Juniors are Religious Studies, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Latin, French, Music, Art, C.D.T., Drama, I.C.T. and P.E. The majority of  lessons are therefore taught in the main building although the Juniors have their own library overseen by Sixth Formers.

Hands_on_MathsThe School is small enough for everyone to know everyone else. Because so many of the girls in our Sixth Form will have joined the School in Prep I (Reception), there is a real feeling of continuity, academic progression and family responsibility. Sixth Formers play an important part in helping younger pupils, providing them not only with role models but with a strong sense of security. We are very much a family School.

Sporting activities include team games in netball, hockey and rounders. We also offer tennis, athletics and our floodlit all-weather hockey pitch and netball court are called into frequent use for interschool matches at the end of the day. Girls also have the opportunity to swim and our squad competes with local schools regularly.

Children entertain parents with concerts and drama productions and there are regular visits to theatres, museums and art galleries. Girls have the opportunity to take part in a wealth of activities which take place at lunchtime or after School. These include various ensembles, choirs, orchestras, I.C.T. club, and many sporting clubs, such as cross country, hockey, netball and swimming. These activities also run in parallel with a diverse programme of workshops by visiting subject specialists, speakers, musicians and facilitators.

SnakeWorking together with parents, all children have homework. Reports are sent  home twice a year. In addition to regular Parents' Evenings, parents are welcome to make individual appointments with any member of staff to discuss any concerns they might have.

"I didn't believe Schools like this still existed. It's  a School where girls are loved and love each other."
