Music and Drama at St Augustine's Priory
"My favourite lesson is Drama. I love it. It's really fun."
(Form III Pupil)
Learning to act and make music together is an important part of school life . St Augustine's has an enviable reputation for music and drama and girls of all age groups regularly delight parents and friends in the exciting and innovative performances which take place at least once a term. This has recently included productions of 'Bugsy Malone', 'Resurrection Rock', 'Calamity Jane', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Fiddler on the Roof' and 'As You Like It'; the girls are currently rehearsing for an all school production of 'The Ash Girl' which will be performed at The Questors Theatre in March 2012.
Pupils often go to West End concerts and theatres and the School welcomes professional theatre companies and workshop groups. All girls study drama and those who wish to develop their talents can progress to GCSE and A Level. Many of our former students study Drama at University.
"St Augustine's encourages you to be an all-rounder, to have a go at everything without the fear of failing."
(Head of Drama)
Pupils' talents and skills are celebrated throughout the year in a wonderful repertoire of events which includes a Music Festival, Summer Serenade and Carol Service in Ealing Abbey.
A wide range of musical instruments including the fife, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, piano, harp and guitar as well as participating in the school orchestras and choirs.
