Outside a tent as part of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

"I love it here. There are so many things to try. I wouldn’t want to go to any other school."
(Lower V pupil)

There are numerous clubs which take place before and after school and at lunchtimes. These range from music to drama and to all sorts of sport. Public speaking is a real strength of the school and the girls are frequent winners of the London 'Youth Speaks Out' competition, and compete in numerous national and international debating competitions.

Field trips, visits to the theatres, art galleries, museums, activity centres and concerts enhance study courses and many girls take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme travelling as far afield as China in Summer 2006. There are frequent guest speakers, workshops led by visiting artists, lectures, outside courses, a foreign exchange programme and trips abroad for language work or just for fun on the ski slopes. The school also has excellent links with the local community and girls regularly help the elderly or children with special needs. They are also highly ingenious in raising money for charity.

'They learn to have concern for those less fortunate than themselves and contribute to the wider community, for example through fundraising for cancer sufferers.'
(Ofsted Inspection Report, July 2006)

These trips and outings are also supplemented with many weird and wonderful special events and activities hosted at St Augustine's, such as Rocket Day, Chemistry Week, National Veterans' Day Commemorations, Murder in the Meadow - CSI Ealing, Time Travel Day to name a few. These special events allow the girls to explore a particular topic in depth and aim to enrich their learning through fun, interactive workshops delivered by experts from relevant industries.
